SEDBUK stands for Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers in the UK and was developed by the Government and boiler manufacturers to provide information on the energy efficiency of boilers, including the one in your home.
The SEDBUK ratings are a useful tool for comparing the energy performance of boilers, so if you're looking to purchase a new boiler and you want to know how much energy (and cash) it could save you each year, the information is available to you at a glance.
Under SEDBUK standards, the efficiency of a boiler is rated as a percentage according to how much of the fuel they use is converted into heat. So boilers that convert 90% of their fuel into heat are more efficient than those that convert 70% and are therefore better for the environment and better for your bank balance!
SEDBUK ratings run from 'A' to 'G', with 'A' rated boilers being the cream of the crop. These boilers are over 90% efficient and are the only boilers that carry the Energy Saving Recommended logo. Check out the full SEDBUK ratings guide in the diagram below:

It's simple really: energy efficient boilers produce less carbon dioxide, making them much better for the environment. They use less energy too which basically means you could be saving some serious cash on your heating bills. All in all, a pretty attractive proposition don't you think?
