Energy efficient boilers

Safety, energy efficiency and reliability...

Did you know that if everyone in the UK with gas central heating installed an energy efficient condensing boiler, we would save enough energy to heat 3.4 million homes for a whole year and save around 13 million tonnes of carbon dioxide.

HOT TIP:

Boilers account for around 60% of the carbon dioxide emissions from a gas heated home. By fitting a new high efficiency condensing boiler and improving your heating controls, you will significantly cut your home's carbon dioxide emissions and could save as much as £275 a year. That's pretty impressive don't you think?

What is a high efficiency condensing boiler and how does it compare to a conventional boiler?

A conventional boiler converts less than 78% of it's fuel into heat and the rest is just wasted up the flue. You are paying for that wasted heat, so it's damaging to the environment and to your finances.

A modern high efficiency condensing boiler has a large heat exchanger, which is designed to extract and recover the heat that a conventional boiler wastes. This means these boilers convert an impressive 90% of their fuel into heat, using less energy and saving you money.

In other words...

For every pound you spend on gas, 25p is wasted with a conventional boiler. High efficiency boilers will turn over 90p of that pound into heat. These boilers are A rated on the SEDBUK scale - which basically means they've earnt some serious greenie points!
